Whether you're a serious aquatics hobbyist or a first time novice, Highway can provide everything you need.

Gone are the days when owning fish meant a couple of goldfish in a bowl, now there are major decisions to be made. Coldwater or tropical? Bow-fronted or straight? Integrated cabinet or tabletop? It goes on.

This wide choice is simple, it enables you to choose the perfect set-up for any size of room and any level of commitment. Some set-ups will need a lot more maintenance than than others, so it's important to understand just what the requirements are.

Fish
The Aquatics Department at Highway has a wide range of tropical fish for everyone from Guppies and Danios for beginners to Malawi and Tanganyika Cychlids to the serious hobbyist.

We have a wide range of Corydoras – Albino, Bronze, Peppered, Elegans, Panda, Adolfi and many more; German and Dutch bred discus. Tangerine, Blue Diamond and Gold Pidgeon.

We also have "oddballs" from Indian Puffers, Clown Knife Fish, Black Ghost Knife Fish, Arowanas, Archerfish; a great range of Catfish including Pictus, Flagtail Dianemas, Hoplosternum, Shark Cats, Tiger Shovelnose, Angelicus, Synodontis and Whiptails plus our Show Stopper 6-8" MBU Puffer and a good range of community fish.

Decorations
We have a wonderful selection of Tank Decorations from Sunken Pirate Ships, Roman Vases and Rocks. Too many mention. A large and varied collection to personalise your tank.

Pond Pumps, Food & Treatments for your Pond
We stock /Kingbritish, N.T, Labs, Interpet, Nishkoi and Tetra and Hozelock pumps and filters and Project Pump and Filter systems.

Cold water and Pond Fish
For the coldwater enthusiast we have Goldfish, Orandas, Ryukins, Ranchus and Coldwater Gobies and for the pond Sarasa, Shubunkins, Ghost Koi and Mirror Carp. Plus classic Koi and a good selection of Pond Plants by Anglo Pond Plants. At the moment the Lillies are looking good as they are in bud or flowering.

Tanks and Equipment
If you are thinking of buying a fish tank for your home then, at Highway, we have a wide range of suitable set ups with a variety of aquarium set ups – up to the hugely impressive 450 litre, bow-fronted Juwel Vision tank. We also stock integrated cabinets and built in filtration, heating and lighting systems.

Alternatively, of course, a tabletop or worktop aquarium always makes a really attractive feature.

We are Juwel main stockists with a wide range of tanks always on display and we also have spares should you need them! We also stock ranges from Interpet Aquariums and Bi Orbs plus masses of starter tanks and a wide range of accessories. We are hoping to have a new range soon - watch this space!

For the more experienced Fishkeeper we stock Dutch Select, Tropical and Freshwater Plant, including Dutch Frozen foods.

Plants and Food
To help mature your aquarium, at Highway we have installed six live plant tanks with varieties such as Amazon Swords, Cabomba Aquatica, Hemiographic, Colorata, Java Fern, Anubias, Cryptocoryne and Vallisnereia. We strongly recommend that you seek advice from staff before purchase as some plants and fish are simply not compatible.

A wide range of frozen food is available at Highway plus dry flakes, pellets, freeze-dried bloodworms etc.

We also stock foods and treatments from Interpet, King British, API and Seachem and our staff are happy to advise on the best products for your fish.

Water
An additional service, you have the option to bring in a sample of your pond or tank water to be tested. This will highlight any imbalance or diseases in the water, enabling an appropriate course of action to be taken. Simply bring your sample to our aquatics centre and let the experts do the rest.
